A After listened some pop reissue LPs such as Eagles and Dire Straits from a UK label. So disappointed of the sounds too worst.
I wish Steve can remastering the following great tiltles on 180gram LP.

1. Eagles / Hell Freezes Over
2. Dire Straits / Love Over Gold
3. Dire Straits / Brothers In Arms
4. Earl Klugh / Late Night Guitar
5. Chet Atkins / Sails
6. Larry Carlton / Alone But Never Alone
7. Bob James & Earl Klugh / Cool
8. Aaron Neville / Warm Your Heart
9. Carol Kidd / All My Tomorrow

and more from Jennifer Warnes, Nat King Cole, Ben Webster, Rickie Lee Jone, Sting, Lee Ritenour, Carpenters, Ella Fitzgerald etc.

Thanks

David,

The strange thing (in my opinion) is that you have picked a number of CDs which were extremely well recorded, mastered and produced.

I really like the Dire Straits remasters and The Well is just stunning. I love Hell Freezes Over and I've got three of Carol Kidd's discs on Linn Records and they are superb.

Little to be gained by remastering these.

I'm not familiar with the Larry Carlton you mentioned, but I have one of his on vinyl (can't recall) and it was well made. Sting CD's are quite good, though my LP of "The Dream of the Blue Turtles" is better than CD. Rickie Lee Jones sounds fine on CD - especially "Pop Pop", though I rate the LP of her first album higher than the CDs I've heard.

I'm more in agreement with Ella and Nat King Cole (though DCC have covered the latter pretty well).

Just my thoughts.

Hi Metralla,

All the tiltes that I mentioned are LP, not CD. I got most of the original LP and have this feeling.
After compared Brothers In Arm and Love Over Gold reissue LP by Simply Vinyl with the original UK pressing LP. I don't think SV sounds good.
I think the following labels re-issue most of the classic titles are much better than original (except Simply Vinyl).
1. Classic Records
2. Analogue Productions
3. DCC
4. Alto Fidelity

That's my point of view. Anyway, thanks for your reply.

David

David,

Stupid me! I should have read your letter more carefully.

Simply Vinyl have an agenda for releasing classic rock on records and it may not align with your requirements. It doesn't match with mine, that's for sure.

I now agree with your post! Sorry for missing your main point.

By the way, I haven't heard "The Well" on vinyl. I've got "Famous Blue Raincoat" on LP but it's in Australia, and I'm here in San Jose with no record playing system - a deliberate decision. Bought this Jennifer Warnes on CD because I do like the music, but it doesn't thrill me the way the record does.

Do you have a CD player too? I noticed on CD Now that there is a remastered Jennifer Warnes from Germany that has cuts from FBR, "The Hunter". Have you heard this? It's a $28 import from Germany, but I like Jennifer a lot, so it may be a treat.
