Her images were often disturbing and fascinating.
She eventually committed suicide using a gas oven, IIRC.

Never knew that. Weird, that's what Sylvia Plath did, too.

Did you know that her husband was the guy who played Sidney the Shrink on M*A*S*H? Alan Arbus, also a photographer.

Just checked around and I was mistaken. She did commit suicide but according to this page, she used pills and slit her wrists. A sad ending for a brilliant artist.

I have a book of her photos, she's in a category by herself. At Yale art gallery, they have a large photo (silver negative?) of the sword swallower lady, it's awesome.
