Persnally I wish Steve could remaster the whole Gordon Lightfoot box set.

Sounds like Rhino did that one in their usual hurry, and my old Mo-Fi Sundown LP (which respective cuts sound better) could stand more bass.

Me too, guess we'll just have to live with it.

Rhino had some kind of GL 'Best Of' listed on their upcoming release page for a while but it's missing now. Does anyone (Bradley?) know what was going to be on this? And aren't the missing Warner Bros albums finally going to make it onto CD?

Craig,

The CD had (has)? a scheduled release date of April 2, 2002. Here is the last tracklisting I saw.

Early Morning Rain
For Lovin' Me
Go Go Round
Canadian Railroad Trilogy
Pussywillows, Cattails
Bitter Green
If You Could Read My Mind
Summerside Of Life
Cotton Jenny
Beautiful
Sundown
Carefree Highway
Rainy Day People
Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald
Race Among The Ruins
Daylight Katy
The Circle Is Small
Baby Step Back
Stay Loose
Restless

The title is supposedly "Complete Greatest Hits", and all tracks are to be remastered. It has a running time of approx. 75 minutes.

I heard this release was bumping the final four back to either June 18th (Paul McCartney's 60th birthday by the way), or July 2.

Gordon Lightfoot is my favorite solo artist. I have been a fan for over 30 years, and have seen him in concert 28 times.

It would've been nice to see "Circle of Steel" on there, too. I can't believe Rhino left that one off from the box set!

I'll stick with the box anyway, it was free (birthday gift from ex-girlfriend). ;)

Thanks for the track list, Greg. I was a big Gordon Lightfoot fan through the mid-eighties or so, but then kind of quit following his releases. Saw him live several times, and still have my vinyl copy of the Reprise Sit Down Young Stranger album.

Do you know if there is any sound quality difference between the Canadian CD version of his early albums as opposed to to the EMI/UA CD's? I saw the Canadian CD's used the other day for a reasonable price and was wondering.

Thanks,
Craig

Would love to have "Old Dan's Records" on CD.
