Buckley's appearance was to the credit of Micky Dolenz who asked him to guest. Mijacogeo aka The Frodis Caper was last episode of the Monkees aired March 25, 1968. Song To The Siren is the Tim Buckley song. Buckley was amazing. His first album is perfect.

Thanks. I have both box sets of the Monkees TV series on DVD but I havent got to the last episode yet. I thought maybe I skipped that one somehow. It's taken me a while to watch them all.

The song is called "Song to The Siren"-Episode 58 "The Frodis Caper"..the one Micky directed (and, sadly, the last one until the '96 Special.). Michael Boyce

I thought the '96 special was written and directed by Michael Nesmith.

Are seasons 3 and 4 on DVD? I only thought that the first two seasons were on disc?

I remember seeing this for the first time (as a rerun) when I was little (second generation Monkees fan) and really enjoying this song...little did I know then that his son would also be a talented singer-songwriter!

Wise move on their part...what a great way to end their television career :)

Season 3 & 4? I thought there were only 2 seasons of the Monkees!

During Buckley's appearance, he's sitting on the car that Frank Zappa and Mike Nesmith smash up in a segment that appears at the start of another episode. I like Buckley's appearance too, but if you look closely, you'll see that he's lip-synching to a pre-recorded track.

Sorry - my bad! There were only two seasons! I stand corrected (58 episodes)
