I've just gotten a unique 2-DVD set at Wal-Mart today...it contains "Airplane!" and "Airplane 2:The Sequel"..it was only $9.97 for both! How's THAT for a bargain? Michael Boyce

It seems that both stores are making 2-DVD sets of major movies more available at rock-bottom prices..here's a few movie star 2-fers I noticed...Sandra Bullock,Cameron Diaz,Mel Gibson,Harrison Ford....and that's only a few of many! Michael Boyce

There are a lot of those at Wal Mart.....I bought a three-fer of Nicholas Cage movies for $13 last week(Face-Off, Snake Eyes, and Bringing Out The Dead).

For all of you Airplane fans, you should check out the movie Zero Hour. It is a late 1950s drama that was the basis for most of Airplane. It stars Dana Andrews and Sterling Hayden.

Zero Hours is fun to watch espacially when you hear lines of dialogue that also appear later in Airplane. There is a scene when Sterling Hayden comes in the control tower, grabs a cigarette, and says - "I picked a bad week to stop smoking".

Is it the Don't call me Shirley edition of Airplane? Because I'd rather have that than have Airplane 2....which is a total rip off of the first one. There are a few funny moments, but most of it is a rehash of both the plot and THE SAME JOKES
Airplane is my favorite movie of all time.....and I saw Airplane 2 for my 11th birthday I can't tell you how disappointed I was.

Both versions have the same commentary, but the "Shirley" edition adds some other extras:

Actually I tried to watch this movie AFTER having watching Airplane. It was almost as funny as Airplane unintentionally of course.

Thanks for the info. I actually don't own a copy of Airplane. I will definitely have to get it so I can refresh my memory and compare it to Zero Hour while that is still fresh in my mind.
