I watched this last night as well. Very good movie. I'm going to watch the DVD extras this morning, which I've heard are interesting.
After seeing this in the theater, I told my friends, and my friends friends, and everybody loves this movie!

In an e-mail, a friend recommended the BD to me earlier in the week. She didn't tell me what it was about. Until I looked it up, I thought it was some kind of Greek film. It sounded like a Greek city-state to me.
I'm gonna rent or buy it in the next week or two.

Interesting tid-bit:
Sean Penn, Gena Rowlands, and Iggy Pop lent their voices to the English language dubbing version of the film, but they were all uncredited.

Very good film, especially for a first effort. This woman really "gets" animation.

Anyhow, Persepolis is a family drama much more than a history lesson, and a very good one. It captures the art style of the book quite well.
Thank you!
The feeling of 'not fitting in ANYWHERE' is at the heart of the film!
AND, the fact that when given ANTI-DEPRESSANTS, the subject suffers from EVEN WORSE DEPRESSION is what I responded to more than the politics.

Aside from the fascinating story, this was a great way to brush up on my French.

Did this get dubbed? Or is it still in French with subtitles?
Had you read the graphic novel first? And did you still like the movie if so?
