Hope this is the right place to post this (not sure, I also thought about the "Off topic" section, Gorts feel free to move it).

My girlfriend made this painting.
In the jpg colours are not reproduced in a perfect way, contrast is not right in its upper part and some small parts close to the borders are missing, but it gives a good idea of what the painting looks like.

I like it very much.
Just curious to know what you think.

thanks
cheers
G.

Yes I do

Your Girlfriend has orchestrated it very well! ;)

I will show my wife when she gets home from work, she appreciates art / painting better than I can as she has been to art college.

Good work

Simon :)

I mean this in a good way: it could be submitted to a greetings card company and maybe be a bit of an earner...

I love it! :righton: Your girlfriend is extremely creative and talented. Love the colors and the abstraction of the instruments. Very nice work!!

:agree:

Particularly orchestras who could have them printed and sell them online or in concert hall shops?

Very nice. We have a lot of clubs in the US that have these kinds of paintings as murals on the walls.

I thought it was a trick question...I thought it was a painting by a famous recording artist.

But, yes, I like it!

Very nice.

Is it an oil painting? What are the dimensions of the original?

I hope she will become famous (and possibly rich)...
So far she's not...

No, it isn't.
It's an acrylic painting on a medium texture cotton canvas.
Size: 35x50 cm.
It's hung on the wall above my mid-fi system.

Very pretty, but obviously derivative.

I think it's great! There's nothing better than to hang a friend's painting in your room because it's a fine work, as well as a great friend. She's very talented.

It would like great on a coffee mug. I don't mean that as a slight. I'm just always looking for markets - my nature.

Agreed. It is very attractive and well done. But stylistically, it doesn't explore any fresh territory. I realize not all painting is intended to do that, so that shouldn't necessarily be seen as a negative. I do like it though.

I like it very much.

It would look great in anybody's music room.

Is this her normal painting style ?

Is this her normal painting style ?
This is a style that suits her but it's not her distinctive one... after all she's not an artist, she's a novice or at least she claimed so (in my humble opinion she's talented anyway).

treat that one as a draft version and have her do it again to tighten it up . .
