That would be wonderful if they did; but I wouldn't be expecting it.

Good. The film needs it. Let's hope they don't digitally overprocess it the end result is like Velvel Cheese--texture (for a good example of bad digital processing and NR look at Fox' recent reissue of "Patton" on Blu-Ray and even DVD.

Didn't know the original camera neg still existed; thought a fair bit was from an 35mm IB scope print? It'd be great if more of the footage had been found.

Another film in peices last we heard was Cleopatra (1963); the 4-hr version was back (on video) but the director's intended cut wasn't thought to be possible (that is, some footage was still trickling in but finding the whole thing looked hopeless).

Has anyone seen their resto of How The West Was Won? It seems to me as if the methods now available could have particularly interesting implications for that one.
