I rented a movie today called "This Thing of Ours" from redbox.
It stars Vincent Pastore (Big Pussy) and Frank Vincent (Phil Leotardo)
from The Sopranos.
The movie is very low budget - but after I got used to the "indie"
production values - I enjoyed the film. Interesting plot about the
mob getting involved with computer crime.
Towards the end of the movie - the main characters enter a bar/restaurant
looking for payback after a double-cross ambush. They are interested
in a guy at a table who is sitting there with a guy I swore was in Aerosmith.
The funny thing is the background music for the scene is an Aerosmith
song ("Round and Round"). And yes, the guy sitting there with the
character is Brad Whitford from Aerosmith.
During the closing credits - I noticed Joe Perry got a credit for music
and a lot of the songs were produced by Jack Douglas (yet another
Aerosmith connection).
But the biggest surprise of all was when I watched the one extra
feature... a music video for a band called The Porch Ghouls covering
"Roadhouse Blues" (the old Doors song).
The video starts with this strange Godfather (I) parody featuring
Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith.
That is definetly funny !!!!!
