Right now I have a VPI TNT-HR with a Benz Micro M2 MC cartridge and I followed the VPI manual as to the amount of damping fluid I use. All seems well, when I got the latest version of British HF test record all of the test tracking bands did well up to the worst one and even there my combo did OK (a little buzzing). I plan to up grade the cartridge and I do not want to screw up a good thing. I have tried to read some of the articles on compliance and resonance but find them very confusing. Can anyone out there simply recommend either high-end cartridges or cartridge specs that will work with the JMW 12.5. Thanks

What I would do is logon to VPI website and ask them. I did and Harry said the best for what I have (JMW-9) is the Dynavector which may be an across the board recommendation for VPI, I don't know. I see you also asked on Audio Asylum another good resource. Harry Weisfield of VPI browses there sometimes and answers questions.

If you like the sound of the Benz Micro and it seems to work in your system then maybe the recent Benz Micro LP would be worth a punt. I find these things so difficult to predict (which is how you end up with a drawer full of cartridges :) ) - what does your VPI dealer suggest ?
All the best - Andrew
