Taxi Driver DVD Latest Version Question

just picked up the latest version of Taxi Driver from wally world and noticed that when Travis walks into the porn theater to grab his seat as he walks by the screen it is completely muddled out - totally scrambled so that you cannot see what is happening on the screen.

it has been a while since I seen the movie but I can almost say with certainty that this has been edited! Anyone out there care to chime in if I am wrong or not?

I bought TD on VHS back around '94 and I remember the screen in the theater having a hazed over look. It may have been done like that on purpose to possibly avoid an X rating. [I'm guessing here.]

The old VHS and first DVD version had that too. Blurry screen in the adult theater the first time Travis goes in. The time he takes Betsy to another adult movie, the screen is clear.

I saw Taxi Driver in the theatre when it came out--the porn screen has always been like that.

any opinions on the transfer on the last dvd?..i believe i read where the contrast was more brighter on the new one compared to the first dvd release.
