I just finished watching the series finale of NCIS. I was not surprised to see the Director get killed, but the last scene - well, .... that kind of threw me.

Anyone want to share what you thought of the finale??

Contract renewal time, perhaps?

BINGO!!!!! Eveyone's contract is up except Mark Harmon's. He resigned for 2 years when he forced out the main producer last year.

I was surprised by the ending as well. I think it is lame if they will be returning after a couple of episodes like Gibbs did a few years ago. But on the other hand, I will be bummed out if these people truly are gone from the show.

I didn't realize it was the series finale. That sure explains the ending.

Was it the SERIES finale of the SEASON finale?,
post #3 above seems to suggest Harmon still has a contract for another year?

My favorite show.

As long as we have Jethro, Abby and Illya Kuryakin, I mean Ducky, I think we're okay.

I would miss Tony, Ziva and McGee in that order, although Ziva really has to get her groove back.

I wouldn't rule anyone in or out just yet.

I was under the impression it was the season finale, not the series finale. I'd hate to see the show disappear. And I like the cast as is. Let's hope it doesn't play out as we were led to believe.

Interesting and unexpected for me. I figured that Jenny was not long for the show with her illness, but I didn't expect her to end to be as it was. I think the cast had some very good chemistry and hope that they all return.

The season finale of Criminal Minds left a similar cliffhanger...

Yes it did. Another show I enjoy watching, though I do miss Mandy Patinkin. Joe Mantegna is very good however.

Should be interesting to see how it unfolds.

I think this show is on the schedule to return next season. I believe that this was just the season finale.

Here is the Tuesday schedule for next fall:

08:00 ABC - Opportunity Knocks
08:00 CBS - NCIS
08:00 CW - 90210
08:00 FOX - House
08:00 NBC - The Biggest Loser

The new director has a bit of a shady past judging from the fact that Shephard had a file on him, so the reassignments may not pan out. I hope the current cast comes back in its entirety next season.

The finale of CSI Miami was just as shocking to me. What will the series be like without David Caruso?

And what did the new director shred before the reassignments were handed out? That will be the next show next season i'm guessing. BTW, i know Tony checked to see if Jenny was dead we did not see her body with Ducky. First they opened the wrong body bag and then Jethro couldn'y unzip it to see her so i don't know.

I like Abby but she gets old if she has to much air time.

As long as Emily Procter is still there, I couldn't give half a hoot.

I am confused as to why people are discussing CSI: Miami in the NCIS thread.

Just got the season finale here in Aus, 4 months later!

This is exactly like what happened on House, it's such a cop-out :thumbsdn:

Tony and McGee are what made NCIS good! I couldn't imagine the show without their petty bickering
