Greetings Folks:
This past week I replaced my aging DV-400 iMac with a beautiful new Mac. Not wishing to transfer all applications and files (including the corrupted ones) from one machine to the other, I am hand picking certain "must haves", one being my video cataloging software, Movie Collector. Even though I have been using OSX for some time, I am still quite the novice when it comes to the architecture of the system. For example, with the forerunner OS9, the data from the application would be in a file that was easy to locate, isolate, and transfer to a restored application if need be. With OSX, I do not know where the data is stored, and have absolutely no idea how or where to locate it. Is it within the application itself? A Sherlock search finds me nada.
I have approximately 300 movies already entered, and I certainly do not wish to lose them when I transfer everything over to my new baby.
Do any of you savvy Mac experts have any suggestions? In return I will give you a hearty Thank You, and one of these: :D
