Is it safe to use Novus polish on Blu-Ray discs?

Disc two of my 'Sopranos Six Part II' has a nasty scratch that occasionally causes it to skip. (It's bad enough that I often can't get it to play properly but not bad enough that the store would replace it)

Any chance Novus could cause more harm than good?

It might be safer to have it re-surfaced at a used shop, although I don't know if they can do that since Blu-Ray has some sort of hard coating, doesn't it?
