Anyone else seen this one? I'm guessing it got fairly limited distribution in the States. I saw it today and enjoyed it immensely. Danny Glover is Tyrone 'Pinetop' Purvis, a juke joint owner low on patrons and high on debt. He makes one last throw of the dice by hiring famous electric guitar player Guitar Sam for one night only, hoping to pay off his debts with one packed night. Meanwhile, a handsome stranger with a guitar in his hand has just arrived in town...
With a blues soundtrack, it is only appropriate that Honeydripper is very much like a blues song: you know exactly what's going to happen, but that doesn't lessen the enjoyment one little bit. Great performances and script, and damn good music too. Check it out if it comes your way!
