I have a question....
I watched a movie a long time ago. A very poor movie. The only good thing about it was the ending.
Now my question.... At the end they played a tune "She's not there" ta remake of the Zombies. This one was done by a male vocalist in a "bluesy tone" just a male and maybe one or two instruments.
I think it was a science fiction movie.
Any ideas ????

Santana maybe? Not sure who else did it. Check allmusic.com.

I heard that Crowded House did it many years ago and it was on a movie soundtrack, but I wouldn't describe Neil Finn as 'bluesy'.

Any clues on the movie? Stars? Director? Story Line?

I'm pretty sure I've heard it, but that's a small needle in a very large haystack. :(

Any chance the Santana version was used in the movie, but when they leased it for television they had to replace it with a similar version by a generic band because they couldn't get the rights for distribution otherwise?

COuld the movie be "The Shaft" or "Down" (same film) perhaps? It was a horror flick made in 2001 about elevators that begin behaving strangely in the Millenium Building resulting in the gruesome death of a blind man. It was also called "The Shaft" which is what moviegoers probably felt they'd been given after they walked out of this flick. It does star Naomi Watts and Michael Ironside two redeeming factors in my book even if the film wasn't all that good. Oh, and Ron Perlman and Edward Herrmann were slumming as well.
