I'm looking forward to it as well. Cannot wait to learn how starbuck survived, and what she is doing flying around where she is at. not to mention the last discovery about who are cylons.

Well, I've been doing it the slow way and watching Season 3 episodes for the past week. I've got 4 left, so I don't think I'll be making the Season 4 premier tonight (but do have a DVR, so I'm not feeling any pressure).

I spent the past 3 years blissfully ignorant of BSG. My best friend has been a big sci-fi buff ever since i've known him (20+ years). He's steered me wrong in the past, and I have to admit that memories of the original BSG combined with my friends assertion that the new BSG was one of the best shows on television biased me against it. His wife bought him the Season 1 and Season 2 DVD's for Christmas, and he coerced me into borrowing Season1. I have since apolgized to him for scoffing. It really is a great show with good storylines and a great cast. Easily one of the best Sci-fi shows ever, and certainly one of the best things currently on television.

And season one is only the tip: it gets much better!

Well the season premiere had some interesting developments in it...just the tip of the ice berg

SPOILERS BELOW:

I think that Starbuck DID die but that another force brought her back and that would explain the perfect shape of the ship and the nav computer being blank..

or Starbuck was flung two months into the future...

The other option is that this isn't OUR Starbuck but from a different dimension

Well, I've watched the premiere twice now, and I can honestly say that I don't have a clue to what's going to happen next. And that's a good thing in my book!

The only thing I didn't like about this Season 4 first episode was:

SPOILER BELOW:

tricking us into thinking that Tigh had shot Adama. It was just too much of a cheap trick to me.
I do love the idea that the biggest, baddest and meanest Cylon-hater (Tigh) turns out to be one himself. Well, maybe, you never know what kind of curve the show's creator's will throw at us next.

I don't think the writers will play around with different dimensions...that's almost too "Sci-Fi"....there's never been any time travel, etc. in this show.

It's interesting they brought up the cylon experiments done with her back in season 2, was it?

GREAT show.

Concerning that song the newly-discovered Cylons keep hearing, any ideas on what that may mean? Right when I recognized the tune I thought of the movie Contact and its opening sequence & the fact that radio waves travel at 186,000 miles per second.....

Just finished watching the premier on TIVO.

Tigh shooting the admiral was a bit of a shock, and flash back to what Boomer did earlier. I'm very curious to see how the writers explain what happened to Starbuck.

I'm wondering if Tigh was programmed to kill Adama but was able to override it, unlike Boomer. I thinking that the "Final Five" Cylons (one of which is still unknown) will have some sort of free will and will be able to countermand any pre-programming. I see some Cylon against Cylon conflict on the horizon. "Helo" Agathon: "A storm is coming."

I'm thinking the same thing here. The program went through his head, but he was able to chose to over-ride before actually following thru.

I'm also wondering why the first set of human cylons are programed not to think about the final 5. Perhaps the F5 (:D ) are 'higher being models' with a higher purpose/function.

i.e. the warrior cylons are at the bottom, then the known human cylons from the earlier seasons, then the final 5 models.

Of course. They have a plan. It said that at the beginning of every episode (until this season). :D

Then there's the Cylon god at the top of that hierarchy, whoever or whatever that is. Maybe it's Bob Dylan!:righton:

The clue is right there. The 12 Cylon is Bob Dylan! ;)

Same here. After I watched it, I felt like I had to watch it again.

For me, the "exchange" between Anders and the Cylon raider was downright chilling.

Watched Episode Two twice now.

Are we any closer to determining who the last member of the final five is?

I have some guesses, but I'm sure we're being led in many directions by the writers at this point.

Pretty interesting developments in this episode, don't you think?

Actually, except for the ending, I thought it was a slow episode with some very drawn-out scenes.

I felt that the "Starbuck is crazy" thing got carried on a bit too long. As to who the 12th is...I'm still not sure. I'm not even sure that the 12th is on the ship perhaps that's who "saved" Starbuck?

Not as far as I can tell. I think I read somewhere that there will be 20 episdoes in this final season, so the writers will likely take their time revealing it to us.

Definitely! :agree:

They're certainly leading us in a lot of directions, which is part of the drama of the whole thing. In episode two, I was fascinated by the conflict between Cylon models 1-6. To me, this is just as interesting as what's going on in inside the fleet.

The question that lurks in the back of my mind is what Earth will they find? Will it be the Earth of 2008, 1908, or...

It is 2008, Adama and company arrive on Earth and are seeing us watch on TV a series called Battlestar Galactica. Now that would really screw-up with our heads.
