I thought the TV show was a bad idea, and it was a blockbuster, so what do I know about movies?

How about Adam Sandler playing the George Peppard role of Col John "Hannibal" Smith?

More evidence that, eventually, every TV show from the 60s, 70s, and 80s will be made into a feature film. Can Kate and Allie be far behind?

Just because somethings is a hit does not make it good. It just measn the bar has been lowered. This makes my point.

Like so many shows of the era, it was a great concept. Unfortunately, like so many shows of the era, it was cheesily executed.

Well, after the successful transition of the 'Charlies Angels' show to the big screen this comes as no surprise....

I have one word for tv to film adaptaions:

MANIMAL.

I loved the show as a kid and only remember snippets (basically the transformation sequences). I'm sure if I watched it now I would be disappointed. But here's a chance to take a show that had a neat concept, but was hindered by the technology and budget of its time - and turn it into a film.

Eh...

Who am I kidding... the studio producing it would probably give the directing reigns to Brett Ratner or Paul W.S. Anderson... :hurl:

Looks like a legitimate, big time star may join the cast of "The A-Team" movie....

Latest rumor is that Liam Neeson is in negotiations to play Hannibal in the upcoming movie.....

Successful, yes. But the movies (at least the first, never saw the second) were awful!

I've never once seen a good movie come out of a remake of a bad TV show. Especially for the 1970s. The Brady Bunch Movie came close -- at least they tried to make a spoof, and it had some good moments.

The first review is in....

The Associated Press thinks "The A-Team" is flat-out fun (http://movies.yahoo.com/news/movies.ap.org/review-ateam-flatout-fun-ap)

Uh, read the review more carefully:

"If you're looking for subtlety, look elsewhere. Carnahan's big-screen version of the '80s TV series is ridiculously over-the-top... At times it feels like little more than a cacophony of automatic gunfire and shattered glass." And: "While several of the action sequences flow beautifully and have a great energy about them, others look fake and cheesy, with distractingly cartoony special effects."

I dunno... To me, it's not possible to take a mediocre, bad even, 1980s TV show and turn it into a good movie. Do we really need another mindless shoot-'em-up?

On the other hand: G.I. Joe made $300 million worldwide. But that was a relative disappointment, since they were hoping for near-Transformers money.

Uh... This is different from the TV show how?

I seem to recall them taking out the enemy with a watermelon shooter in one episode.

It looks silly and fun. It may be bad but it could be one of those bad films that you enjoy anyway.
