This one has me stumped! I'm looking for the font used for the aborted Beach Boys album Add Some Music. I currently have a font called "Prodigal" which is very similar but it's too short (see below). When I did a search for similar fonts, I couldn't even find a font called "Prodigal," so I'm stuck. Does anyone know this font or a variation of it? Thanks.

I used to use this site called Identifont to find fonts sometimes. Someone may have mentioned this already. You answer 30 questions or so regarding the font and it tries to figure it our for you. It doesn't always work, but it can be useful.

That's how I found this one. Actually one of the 30 possibilities was Windsor (which was too short) so I searched for variations on that and found Windsor Elongated.

Great - thanks Craig! I use Identifont also, but many times there aren't enough letters in the example so you end up having to guess some of the answers, and then the result is not even close!

Sometimes you find it best to omit certain letters that you do have. The questions may skew towards some common letters which means they fail to ask about other letters. It took me three tries to nail one of the fonts on "Some Girls".

Complete Digital Moron Question (and threadpoop, apologies tendered to all & sundry):
I'd like to get Garamond (and Garamond Italic) for my AppleWorks 6 software (I have an iBook, about six years old); where can I go to find that, and (presumably) download it?
Cheers,
Bruce

The Adobe Type Library (
http://www.adobe.com/type/) has lots of fonts available for purchase and download.
There are many different versions of Garamond... so look around and pick your favorite!
