How many remember this TV special back from 1971 ?

I watched this at that time i was about 9 years old and the J5 were
my FAVE band. Last night i was watching this and a few things really struck me .
One :
TITO is PLAYing !!!!!! FOR REAL this blew my mind , i never thought he would have played live guitar in concert . But sure enough he is using a WAH WAH pedal and Everything !!!!
He even pulls off the guitar solo in Goin Back to Indiana !!!

In the concert segment (in Indiana) they do
Feelin Alright , A couple Sly songs and that Isaac Hayes Jam that he created Walk On ( you know
at the beginning of walk on by)........

ya gotta see this !!!!!!.....and the dancing !!!, Mike is strutting like he OWNS the Stage !!!......He is just belting these songs out ...one of the GREAT soul singers at this age too !!!......i don't think he gets enough credit for that !

And Jermaine is playing Bass !.......I dunno i don't mean to sell them out , but i guess i always thought that when they played live that maybe they wouldn't be playing their instruments?

this special needs to be issued on DVD , it was broadcast on ABC ...i don't know who owns the rights?....maybe Dick Clark ?.....at the end it said a Motown production, so maybe Motown is sitting on this?

I'd sure like to see it. Do you have a link where you viewed it?

I'm gonna guess it's in the Motown archives so Universal holds the rights to it but there's the possibility that since ABC aired it then maybe Disney has the rights (unlikely though).

You can ususally find a bootleg DVD copy on the cheap on ebay or ioffer if you're lookin'. I picked one up about two years ago.

Looked at this thread too fast, and I thought it said "Indiana JONES 5"! But, now that I think about it..... The Indiana JACKSON 5 might be a COOLER movie!

It is a pretty cool special. Being a major J5 fan myself I do remember it despite being only 3 years old when it aired originally.:D I also loved the cartoon series produced by Rankin/Bass during the same period. IIRC the rights to both are owned by Motown Productions.
