great casting. ray is a superb martial artist and should do justice to the legend of snake eyes, probably the most lethal military-based character ever created.

for the uninitiated, snake eyes of the gi joe line of comics was created by larry hama, a first class martial artist in his own right, a great musician and an actor ( he had a part in the original M*A*S*H* series!). larry was also responsible for probably being the single most important player in creating the 80's gi joe cast, plots and vehicles.

ironically ray thought he would be playing another martial artist first - marvel comics iron fist.

had the chance to chat with ray at length at comic con. great guy.

I'm going to be very amused if people pile on the movie as some sort of sell-out "desecration" thing. I was in my teens and a big comic book fan when "GI Joe" hit in the 80s - it was patently clear THEN that the series was pap aimed at selling toys. Why would that be any different now? The movie will probably be a step UP in quality from the original stuff!
