buy movies for it now at bargain basement prices, knowing that if the machine craps out one day, and I can't find a replacement, I might be screwed. Or do I stop now, enjoy the 8 HD-DVD's that I do have, and focus on my blu-ray buyin'? Or ditch the HD-DVD player and discs entirely? Just curious as to your opinions and what others in the same boat are doing. Fer instance, I can get the whole Bourne Trilogy on HD-DVD for $30. Pretty sweet, but on a dead format. Oh, bother. Thanks for your time.

I'm buying them on the cheap. Even if the player craps out 10 years from now, you got a lot of good use out of it!
I imagine it'd be tough to sell your player and DVDs and get much for them. It's gotta be a buyer's market for HD-DVD...

I bet more HD-DVD players were made than Laserdisc players and you can find them all the time on ebay. I would buy all HD-DVDs that you can find at BARGAIN BASEMENT prices but nothing at regular prices.

The fact that HD-DVD players are also great "upconverting" players saves them as far as should you keep it or dump it.
My XA2 will remain in my system.
