I was watching a show on Miercats on Universal HD lastnight and a commercial for the AMEX Plumb Card comes on. It's apparantly a new small business card with a lot of new perks and while the announcer is talking they're showing people milling around and looking at albums and there are turntables in the background and they go on to say that Michael Davis (i think) of Music Direct is one of the 1st 10,000 people to get one. Then it desolves into an overhead shot of the card and as it pans away you begin to see and array of, at first, cartridges, then tubes, then phono preamps, then turntables, then CD players and big tube power amps and foorstanding speakers laid on their back...

It was so cool! my wife and I watched it about five times in slowmotion trying to pick out gear. There was also a bit about "servicing the audiophile communiy worldwide" and then, I assume it was Mike, walked out and they said a bit about "even starting your own record lable" and he holds up and LP sized jacket that has the new MoFi label on it.

Has Music Direct bought MoFi? Is this old news?

I said to my wife it's mystery no why they would air a commercial about audiophilia on an HD only network. I say it a great commercial and great target marketing.

here's a link to the page on Music Direct. It has a link to youtube but I can't access it from here.
