Can anyone give me any tips in this area? I'm not talking about asking Harrison Ford or Julia Roberts for 10 million dollars, but asking a fairly well-known actress to do something for the community theatre in her hometown. How do I find out who "her people" are so I can go through the proper channels?

I know celebrities get hundreds of requests for this sort of thing, so what's the best way to approach it - just a well-written, not-too-insistent letter to her representative?

Thanks...

this is going to sound stupid, but do they have a myspace page?

I would think that, with a bit of 'net-sleuthing, you should be able to find out who her management is, and approach them with your request. If there's a specific publicity angle in it, be sure to mention that.

When I was in college, our Drama department somehow got Eileen Heckart to reprise her Oscar winning role in our production of "Butterflies Are Free". This was a small community college so I'm certain she couldn't have been paid very much. She was an extremely nice lady and was fun to work with. I'm convinced that she probably did it just to be nice.

Imdbpro will have their management contact details. Just call and ask.

Then if they'd like a written request, email it. But at least they expect its coming at that point.

Don't pussyfoot. Just call.

IMDB Pro is $90 a year, last time I checked. But well worth the money.

Yes but you can get a free trail (14 day subscription) and then cancel.

I agree though, ImdbPro is well worth the money.
