Steve, do you know anything about why Sony slowed down so much on releasing SACD's?

They slowed down long before Sept 11th. I know the 5.1 channel SACD's cost a lot to mix. Is that it?

......Getting artist consent for SACD releases. It involves revamping old contracts and new higher royalty rates. Probably a nightmare for the legal department.
I doubt that Sony has forgotten about all the great Columbia/Epic albums in its vaults. Certain artists are just saying "no" right now.

Rumour has it that we are going to see a jump in SACD releases soon. Classical lovers and jazz buffs have been reasonably well-served, but rock aficionados have been left on the shelf. I hear that rock freaks are in for some good news.
