I don't have a clue - but the question reminds me of how (back in the late 80's) Howard Stern determined that Sting was actually the caller on "fan line".

He asked him to name the first drummer for the Police.. (another name I cannot recall).

Hi Dave,

I also have no idea but do feel strongly that they made a great improvement from whoever was there first. :D Saw Rush a couple times in the late 70's & early 80's and spent the whole show spacing at the drums. Very unusual for me, I usually space at guitarist & hot babes in the audience.

Let the Good Times Roll,
Jeffrey

I think the name was John (?) Rustey... Not sure of the first name or the spelling on the last.

The first drummer of The Police?... Last I knew Stewart Copeland was drummer from day 1. On the other hand Andy Summers was not the original guitarist...Who was?

John Rutsey... Easy question, but then again, I'm a huge Rush fan.

Went out to the local Media Play store (do they have them outside of Columbus?) and found a DCC Elton Johns Greatest Hits CD.

The music is a long way from Rush, but I pounced anyway (of course).

Ok... here's a harder question, whats Geddy Lee's real name?

Gary

His first name is Gary. Not sure of his last. Got the "Geddy" from his Mom's apparent accent in pronouncing Gary. She works (worked?) as a nurse in a hospital. Met her once but was not too impressed at the time. Did not care for an autograph, either (no prizes for guessing why!). Still kicking myself.

They tell me my Mom has the same accent. Can't be true - sounds fine to me! ;)

Gary Lee Weinrib. Your right, his mother couldn't pronouce his name, either.

I saw Rush when they toured for Signals. Peart had two drum sets--front and back, acoustic and electronic. His seat was on a small revolving platform so he could alternate between the two. Awesome!

When they jumped into Limelight with that powerful, raw lead guitar everybody freaked. Definitely one of my fav concerts.

Rush is also one of my favs. as well. They are one of about a doz. bands that really shines in live performance. Sometime just for fun put on 2112 and then after that put on 2112 on All The World's A Stage. They really cook live! http://ubb.fanasylum.com/smiles/rotate.gif

The Police's original guitarist was Henri Padovani.

Q: What famous rock star who's early occupation and name would make a good tounge twister?

Answer coming up. See if you can guess. I already gave a clue there.

OK, Lynyrd Skynyrd had one guitar player that came from another band who played on their first few albums. What was the name of the other band - and, why not, the guitar player's name?

Yea, this is a pretty easy question, too!

Steve, although three Skynyrd albums are on DCC's list, do you know when / if they will be done? Anything in "the works" or are you still negotiating? Wish you could do all of them up to Street Survivors! :)
