The Kinks; You Really Got Me
An Insiders Story
Dave Davies apparently is behind this set which includes archive concert and TV performance footage and extensive interviews with band members!

I've looked at this thing again, and I'm not sure who's putting it out. It's a combination book/DVD set. Anyone else know about it?

For some reason the link's not working, but you can get it by going to Amazon dvd, the Kinks. Scroll down , it's the 4th item.

"Village Green" - not only my favorite Kinks album (& it is NOT easy to choose), but one of my favorite albums by ANYBODY!!!
I'm really looking forward to this DVD set. It's a crime that there's so little on video out there from one of the greatest bands of the British Invasion.
One thing confuses me about the Amazon listing for this item: It claims that it is a 3 disc set, yet the total time is only about 2 1/2 hours. If true, that's less than 1 hour per DVD. And that, my friends, is a crock of S% for something that is selling for $30 ..........

Yeah, the price's a little high for the running time.
But there's a "book" included too, I'm guessing that's the reason .

This is going for $24.00 on Amazon now. Has anyone picked this set up? How is it?
Edit; It's still $29.00

To recycle a previous post (
http://stevehoffman.tv/forums/showpost.php?p=3723980&postcount=12) of mine: It's a repackaging of three previous discs, to whit, In Their Own Words (archive interviews with Dave, Mick, John Gosling and John Dalton), The Live Broadcasts (British TV footage, mostly late '70s), and Music in Review (critics critiquing in voice-over while archive footage plays in the background). Dave didn't have anything to do with compiling it, and only the Live Broadcasts disc looks especially interesting.
