Universal CD/SACD/DVD-A players revisited

Has anyone heard the new Denon DVD-2900 in all it's modes? It seems there are no good sounding universal players availble under $4000. I'd love to get the new Linn universal, but at $11,000, that's just not going to happen. I have a Linn Ikemi and am looking for a universal player under $3000 that will at least match that in sound quality. Thanks in advance for your replies,

I think that you have to appreciate that it is impossible for a universal player to match a CDP in the same price range. The universal player is being asked to do so much more, read and decode different format disks, process audio and video, bass management, time alignment, provide six audio output channels rather than just two. It's not economically possible to do all of this at a matching sound quality at a price that is not at least three times higher.
