So I'm clicking the remote last night (like Homer Simpson, with drool out of one side of my mouth) and I land on CBS high-def and MOONLIGHT, around the last 10 minutes of the show I guess. Probably a repeat from last year as was everything else last night.

First thing I see is a helicopter firing a missile at a police car and blowing it up. Next scene is a guy laying in a bathtub filled with (what looked like) ice cubes. This woman comes in, pretty with honey colored hair (Beth?) She tells him she knows he is dying (or un-dying) and she offers him a quart full of her blood to save him. Whoever she is, she has an amazingly expressive face. She sort of opens the top collar part of her blouse like she expects him to go to her neck like Dracula or something. He at first sez no way but then grabs her arms and starts, er, slurping. The look of fascination/revulsion on her face is priceless.

Next scene she is home I guess and her friend or husband or partner (no idea) is near her saying stuff like "We make a good team, etc."

She agrees with him but when he is not looking her face changes to these feelings one at a time, horror, love, revulsion, back to a placid amiability when he looks at her again. He kisses the hand of the arm she has wounded ("silly accident", she states) and when he does she closes her eyes in this sort of woozy revulsion/wistful smitten look.

Last scene she is knocking at the vampire's door, resting her head on it. He, on the other side, sees her on the monitor but does not let her in, instead he rests his head on his side of the door. They hold that position for a good 30 seconds (an eternity in television) and her face is so expressive, it's like a map of emotions, one right after the other.

And so the episode ends. Now, I really have no use for vampire TV shows. Vampires as cops, vampires as detectives, vampires as protectors of this or that; the idea is pretty whacked. However, I have NO idea what this show is actually about. All I know is that this actress (actor) is truly amazing. Can't understand how she made it on to a network TV show, usually they pick insolent, know-it-all chicks who like busting balls for a living. This person is totally different.

Anyone know her name and what she has been in before? Is she a regular on this show? No way she is an unknown; she probably has tons of credits. Is the show any good? Etc. etc.

Thanks.

Here's the cast list from tv.com. I've never watched the show, so I don't recognize the character/actress from your description.

If it's Shannon Sossamon, and you want to see her again, try The Rules of Attraction. Here's her imdb page:

Ah, not her but thanks.

This is her:

Sophia Myles. Plays Beth in this show.

British actor.

Heh, thought so, too good to be a native... Fake American accent in the show. Great performance! Wonderful to watch on the screen.

She was one of the high points of our last "beautiful woman" thread.

...posted, incidentally, by the guy who's got an underwear model for an avatar (Jack)!

Her greatest television appearance (she's a stage actress primarily) is the excellent, Hugo-Nominated episode of Doctor Who -- The Girl In The Fireplace.

I agree she is well above the calibre of the usual tv actor/actress, and an amazingly beautiful woman.

The show "Moonlight" is the only new one this season in which I find any merit WHATEVER!

This actress is not what I'd describe as gorgeous, but very attractive regardless. She sort of reminds me facially of the youthful version of Lauren Bacall.....

Her career so far seems to be typecasting her in vampire-themed entertainment. She was in both UNDERWORLD movies as well as the 2006 TV version of DRACULA - and now she's a regular in MOONLIGHT.
