My sister called me yesterday afternoon with this question & I've been searching & searching for the answer with no success so I'm asking all of you. The question is: "Who said "I'm as old as my gums & a bit older than my teeth" & from what movie did it come? Thank you so much!

Likely not what your are looking for...

# "Are You Being Served?" (1972) {Fifty Years On (#4.5)}

Mr. Wilberforce Clayborne Humphries: I ask Mother how old she is and she tells me "as old as my nose and slightly older than my teeth".

Edmund Gwenn (Kris Kringle) in Miracle On 34th Street says something similar: tongue, instead of gums.

That's the great Carole Lombard, tongue firmly in cheek, getting set to tell another whopper in a film called True Confession.

Thanks Brad. It is a striking image for sure.
