This is good news. I'm so happy they're sticking with a real Fleming title. What's left now, just "Risico" and "Property of a Lady", right?

Can't wait. I thought Casino Royale was the best Bond movie in years......

Any idea who the leading lady will be???

Hahah, they'll have to pick someone like "Bjork" to write lyrics

The last one didn't use "Casino Royale" in the lyrics, so I doubt this one will.

The book For Your Eyes Only also has a story called The Hildebrand Rarity. The story of Risico was part of used in the film version of For Your Eyes Only so they may never use that title.

I thought Daniel Craig was great but I thought the story and villians were a bore. The movie was about a 1/2 hour too long also.

It was different but still good. As a kid it was almost as much fun to wait until all the creits rolled to find out the title of the next film, it was a blast.

This reminds me of the problem the producers faced when they titled one of the films License Revoked. They had to change the title because they found after polling that a lot of people didn't know what "revoked" meant. They consequently chose License to Kill instead

I'm thinking that both "quantum" and "solace" are going to be just as puzzling to those who didn't get "revoked." :help:

Quantum of Solace is a terrible title. It sounds like it's either an eggheady sci-fi title or a trashy paperback romance......which the story may very well be an amalgam of both! It's a shame because Craig is great as Bond and this title is too unBond like.Oh well,I'll look forward to the movie no matter what..........

Oops, you're right, I forgot 'The Hildebrand Rarity'. And let's not forget "007 in New York" from "Thrilling Cities".

Are those printed in a book somewhere? I've never read those.

'For Your Eyes Only' and 'Octopussy & The Living Daylights' are not novels, but a collection of short stories. You'll be able to find them there.

Says a lot about the 'Bond' audience.

 :shh:

This is an urban legend. The name change happened, but presumbably because they thought Licence to Kill sounded more like a James Bond action film.

They should just use The Beach Boys "Pet Sounds" track under the original title, "Run James Run".

It's just "retro" enough to work. :D

I loved the movie, but logically there is no point to Bond's involvment in the poker tournament. We (the viewers) find out later that Le Chiffe has kidnapped Vesper's boyfriend and has forced her to pay him the winnings from the game. However, there is no point in Bond entering the tournament in the first place. That part of the film is superfluous.

Agreed. I thought it was the best since the Sean Connery years. Looking forward to the new one.

Just watched the trailer; another "gritty" 007 film. Hurrah!

The more I see of him, the more I like Daniel Craig in the role as Bond. I also just twigged that he shares a quality with Sean Connery: a kind of simian, dangerous intensity that some of the other Bonds couldn't quite manage. Can't wait for the new film.
