Recording of Olivia's March 2006 concerts at the Sydney Opera House in Australia. A couple of the performances were actually specially filmed before the Japanese 2006 concerts to add to the DVD performance. The DVD also features behind-the-scenes footage - a personal tour of some of Olivia’s favourite spots in Sydney from the Harbor Bridge to Manly Beach, a vacation spot where she spent summers as a child. Highlights of this concert DVD were shown on PBS television in the USA.

Well, she's either had plastic surgery or the photo was altered. There's no way anyone in their 50s looks that wrinkle-free naturally.
As to the dvd, I haven't seen it. Looks like something I'll rent from Netflix when I reopen my account.

She looks great for her age, I saw her in concert in 2006 and she was fantastic, in looks and voice.
I'm sure the photo could have been retouched a bit, but you can see wrinkles around her eyes and with great lighting...no retouches needed.

I caught some of it on PBS a couple of months ago and thought it looked great.

:goodie: Sounds like something worth the wait. By the way, it's the FIRST OFFICIAL OLIVIA LIVE DVD! The 1982 show DVDs are far from legit, sort of grey area releases and everything else out there are pure boots.

This DVD (just finished watching it) is AMAZING!:edthumbs: 10 out of 10 in every aspect - picture quality, sound quality (5.1 mix is PERFECT), arrangements, performance - Olivia looks great (she's 60 this year and you cannot wonder how great she aged) and sings better than ever, she lost none of her vocal magic and gained some, especially on dramatic mature tracks like Serenity. But she can still belt out songs like Xanadu, Twist of Fate or You're the one that I want as good as back then. The tracklist is also pretty cool with some obscure songs thrown in (I loved to hear The Dolphin Song, Dancin' from Xanadu or her stunning cover of Cry me a river) and of course jazz version of Physical simply kills the original! Musicians and back singers are superb, the orhestra is very well incorporated in the arrangements and overall this one of the most perfect DVD productions that I ever saw. Guess it's better to have 1 official DVD like that than 10 of questionable quality (like Deep Purple have for example).
Gentlemen, I cannot recommend this one enough!:edthumbs: :edthumbs: :edthumbs: :edthumbs:

Yup she has,
We were only laughing about it yesterday, she was maturing into an elegant aging lady, now along with too many others she has joined 'Team Jocelyn' and now looks like a freak.

Perhaps he was freaked by how great she looks, antonkk
Seriously though, she can't win for losing, as the saying goes. She can't change the rest of the world or its pop fashion sensibilities. She has to at least partly fit the image of her past career, or there'd be no concert. If she doesn't have any cosmetic aid, a lot of folks will be put off. If she does, a lot of folks will be put off. Olivia has another problem, not of her own chosing, in that because of widely publicized past health problems, she's sure to be scrutinized for any perceived signs of health problems. That has to be a fun cloud over your head. Unfortunately it's not going to get any easier.
I suspect that she may consider cosmetic aids as "doing what she can" to look her best. I agree the makeover's a bit much, but then I'm not one who'd mind if she did look older. What I'd mind is the vocal performance, and that's amazing. So I'll overlook the appearances and the photoshoppin' splurge on the cover. If she managed to put on the show, enjoy it and have others enjoy it, that's wonderful.
Keely Smith recently made a very rare television performance. I gather it wasn't an easy thing to do, knowing she didn't look "hot" anymore and not exactly eager to dissappoint anyone (never mind all the other problems of ageing and still trying to perform to exacting standards with cameras on you). I had to admire her standing up and doing it anyway. Who knows if Olivia will do as much when she gets to that age? As much as I'd love loads of money, I still don't think I'd like to be in either of their shoes. Guys have it so much easier. Heck, the worse Bob or Keith look, the better! :D

Well, she doesn't only look great on the photoshopped cover (show me one promo photo of any artist which isn't photoshopped?) but she actually looks great on the DVD itself and not only from the distance - it has lots (and I mean LOTS!) of extreme close ups and they are not only beautiful but very powerful artistically - the intimate songs like I honestly love you and Serenity are all shot in close ups and the dramatic impact is stunning! I never actually cared for I honestly love you before but it gave me goosebumps on this DVD - not only because it was the finest version ever but also because of Olivia's dramatic performance if you know what I mean. And of course the prayer-like song Serenity (the most mature and spiritual song she ever did) simply gives you chills!:righton:

Hi,
I love Livvy, she is one of our own (sort of) but i just cant handle 'Hollywood face syndrome' and Olivia has it now, especialy around the eyes, i loved her growing old(er) gracefully with her natural looks, but now with the somewhat taught face it makes me a little sad, her voice is still beautiful and i'm really looking forward to seeing her perform at Mardi Gras in Sydney next weekend,
Greg xoxo

I bought the DVD yesterday. Won't comment on her looks (though part of me wants to). My comment is on "Tenterfield Saddler". WOW! It made my eyes expell excess hydration. Am going to have to hunt down the Peter Allen disc, as well as Olivia's 2 (Duet) disc.

It's tough to top the Physical album cover, but remember, that was 30 years ago!
