I'm not that familiar with Chuck Prophet, but I have to say his performance was excellent.

yes, as tv performances go this one was stellar . . . high energy, w/prophet really singing his tail off w/a lot of "body english"; interestingly, used a "2-headed" mic stand, singing parts of his vocals into a 2nd mic.

His production style uses a fair amt of studio effects, contrapuntal rhythms, etc. and they appeared to go to great lengths to re-create live--including Schaffer on some sort of gong/vibe-like percussive tone instrument.

Also, at least 3 guys at the back doing some prominent clapping.

The female in keys, I assume, was/is his wife, Stephanie Finch.

I've got most of his solo stuff, but the latest one I don't have (includes the track he played last night, I'm guessing.)

Anyone know what song he played? No sign on youtube yet. Lots of comments on his website from people who'd never heard of him before, so it sounds like it did the job.
