As I'm watching it tonight on NBC, I'm wondering about the music.
I'm talking about the actual vocal performances like BUFFALO GALS and that song that played during George's wedding night.
Were these actual tunes that saw release, or were these unknown/generic performances that were scored for the movie itself?

Buffalo Gals was already an OLD song (19th century) wen the film was made.

Understood.
But I'm referring to the actual performances in the film itself.
Thanks for the reply, though!

Everything was created at RKO for the film. Nothing "old" was used.

The DVD I have has the soundtrack as an extra.

Although they made it look like a 78 of "Buffalo Gals" was playing, the scene ran longer than a 78 can play, so it had to have been scored.
