Thanks for posting this, Kevin. April 1st, 2008 seems so far away but I'm sure it will be here before we know it. I'll definitely be picking this up.

Did anybody else notice that this DVD will contain the video for Spin It On? I hope it is the complete video and not just short clip of it.

It's sounding like it will be whatever originally aired. I can't remember how much of the video they showed on the original broadcast (I have it on VHS but haven't watched it in quite awhile.)
One thing I'm wondering about is the Lennon episode on this set. They are apparently including an episode from 1980 where they re-aired the 1975 Lennon interview. But I wonder if anything was different (either more or less footage) on the later airing than what originally aired. If they edited it for the 1980 broadcast at all, I'd rather have the original unaltered airing from 1975.

Having watched the original 1980 broadcast from Dec. 9th, none of the Lennon footage is added to or subtracted from. What was different was Snyder's intro to the show. He'd always open the show by himself, talking to the viewer about the day's events or whatever was on his mind. On this occasion, he made note of Lennon's passing, talked a bit about the interview being rebroadcast, and went to commercial, after which, the Lennon interview began, and was re-aired without any alterations. This version has been released on home video before, and for obvious historical reasons, it's the one being released now.
Snyder was apparently asked about this interview many times over the years, and often said that he never thought it was all that great. The main focus of the interview was Lennon's immigration fight, and much of the time was taken talking to Lennon's lawyer. It was more a way of gathering publicity and support for Lennon's fight to not be deported than any great interview. That said, clips from it keep appearing in virtually every Lennon/Beatles documentary.
