Tonight, Sunday 09 Dec 07, is CBS football making the TV shows behind it late on the east coast? If late, how late? TIA.

I'd say about 20 minutes late.

Thank you, signore. I want to watch Cold Case (great use of music), but not one minute of the reality show that precedes it.

Football almost always makes CBS's Sunday prime-time lineup late on the East Coast.

PaulYes. I'm (painfully) aware of that fact.
Sorry, but you're not going to convince me there's anything worth watching on CBS after football.
But tell me, did you just move to the east coast or something? It's been like this since I was a child.

A few years ago the NFL floated the idea of bumping the start times for their Sunday afternoon games even further back, to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. ET. I can't remember whether it was CBS's entertainment division or the "60 Minutes" people that put the kibosh on that plan.
Anyone else remember the days when teams in some Central time zone cities would start games at 2 p.m. ET? The Baltimore Colts did this too, due to a local Sunday "blue law". When CBS (or NBC) had a doubleheader week, they'd have to join the late 4 p.m. game in progress after the 2 p.m. game was over.

Apparently I was way off in my first time estimate.
I was watching "60 Minutes" at the time, and they had just finished the 3rd story, so I assumed that there was only about 20 minutes left.
"60 Minutes" must have been scheduled for 90 minutes last night, because I think CBS was about an hour off schedule.
Happens just about every Sunday this time of year. A bit worse now with the games starting at 4:15 rather than 4.

This has almost nothing to do with football, btw. My point was not to express shock and surprise that, omigod, football was making the rest of CBS's Sunday TV late. As ATR so graciously surmised, I've known about this for some time now.
I just wanted to know what time my show, Cold Case, would come on, without having to watch the reality show that came before it. I don't want to watch any minutes of a reality show just because I'm interested in the show that comes after.
