My copy of the directors cut DVD runs way too fast. The interviews sound like the Chipmunks. Has this ever been corrected? It drives me nuts.

It's a known issue. It has to do with the film being transferred to video (diiferent frame rates).

All copies are fast.

They sound a lot younger, but I never noticed a pitch problem. Film is 24 frames per second, and video is 30 fps, but a digital transfer shouldn't have any speed issues, as it just repeats certain frames. The audio pitch stays the same. Why would this one be any different?

If there were an NTSC to PAL conversion, there would be a slight uptick in pitch(different frame rate). Why some conversions are not Lexiconed(pitch corrected), especially for music, always puzzled me.

Are you sure you're not just playing your 33 1/3 DVD at 45?
