It was a little creepy seeing the billboard for 'Cloverfield' on the NJ Turnpike the other day. It was not long ago that I was observing a similar scene in reality nearby.

If anybody's looking for me on April 4, I'll be at the theater for the opening of Shine A Light, The Stones/Scorsese concert documentary. The trailer looks great!

I think you'll see a lot of us Forum Members on THAT line!

I have two movies I worked on coming out next year - "The Great Buck Howard" with Colin Hanks (produced by Dad) and "Journey 3-D" or "Journey to the Center of the Earth" with Brendan Fraser.

I saw the trailer in 3D for that new "Journey" movie when I saw Beowulf the other day. Looks like a must see! :)

Oh, really? Ha - I saw a very, very rough cut of the film (sans most of the effects) months ago - I didn't know the trailer was out! Cool - I'll ask for a copy.

A new Rambo?????? As if the new Rocky did not tank? What are they thinking?

Looking forward to Iron man, Indianna Jones, Star Trek and Hell boy 2 then all those small import films I never hear about until they play the local art house.

Yes, and they really amped up the violence. It's like a video game.:sigh:

:shake: oh great, 2008 has all I dislike, and in abundance: remakes and superheroes... :sigh:

Still, that new Indy...

I like indie films... :D

"Rocky Balboa" DIDN'T tank. It wasn't a huge hit, but it made a pretty decent $70 million in the US and got very good reviews. It was a very pleasant surprise across the board...

That clip for "Pineapple Express" made me laugh out loud.

Looking forward to "The Dark Knight" the most. I'm very curious about "Midnight Meat Train" since that's one of my favorite short stories ever. Can't forget about Indy Jones, and the wife will want to see Carrie and Mr. Big in the "Sex and the City" flick.

And they'll blame piracy for declining ticket sales.

It played here one week and we have 27 theaters most with muliti screens. 70 Mil is a killer take back in the 70's and 80's. These days that is just the advertising budget. lol At this point Sly's career is going the same path as Bert Renyolds...a little here, a little there. He will never vanish but his days as any kind of audence draw is long over. They should make a film starring Sly, Bert, Clint etc etc as some sort of "over the hill gang" who gets backs together for one last caper. Oceans 85 maybe?

I am looking forward to WALK HARD...a spoof of all this music bio pics.

Check out the trailer for "Be Kind Rewind". It won't help if you hate Jack Black but I thought it looked funny.

Box office is up this year - it was a record-breaking summer.

And there's this as proof...

Looking forward to Iron man, Indianna Jones, Star Trek and Hell boy 2 then all those small import films I never hear about until they play the local art house.

(and I don't mean that as knock, C'ing - I'm looking forward to them too.)

And don't forget the ever-intriquing .......

Alien vs. Predator : We Hope This Makes Up For The Last Four Pieces Of ***** and The Destruction Of This Franchise 2

Man, I loved the first two and can even appreciate the Special Edition Extended Alien 3. Some of my top favorite sci-fi/horror movies.

But they really blew it with the Alien franchise!

I didn't say the movie was a big hit - it said it did decently. And $70 remains decent - not great, but a lot better than "tanking".

In addition, "Rocky Balboa" was an inexpensive movie: its budget was only $24 million. It made a good little profit.

And I find it VERY hard to believe the movie was gone in one week in VA Beach. Even the biggest flops stay on screens longer than that - no way it was out of town after one week.

Not sure why you have it out for the movie, but like it or not, it did pretty well for itself...

According to boxofficemojo.com, "Rocky Balboa" made over $155 million worldwide....

http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=main&id=rocky6.htm

Not to mention another $32+ million from video rentals. Quite good totals for a $24 million investment.
