Just wondering if there are any NES gamers here? I picked up a refurbished system a few months ago and I have about 50 or 60 games. It's been a lot of fun re-playing some games that I havn't played in about 10 or 12 years. :righton:

Right here. I started collecting for the NES in the late 90s, after the Atari finds dried up (I collect older video games in general). I have 2 consoles and about 250 games. The Legend of Zelda is probably my favorite game of all time. I also like Contra, the Super Mario Bros. games (especially 2), Monopoly, Deja Vu, Excitebike, and a lot more. My sister got the NES for Christmas of 87, and we played it regularly for 2 or 3 years, but I missed out on a lot of games back then. I have them now.
Currently my video game collection and my music collection share the master bedroom in the house (I call it the Media room, but my wife calls it the Fount of Outdated Technology).

In 1986, my best friend got an NES with Zelda. I played that game at his house for 12 hours straight. I bought one the next day and have never looked back.
I have played every Zelda, Mario, Metroid, etc., on every Nintendo console, but there is something about the original NES. Such great games that I still love today.

I don't have the physical system and the games, though I have a bunch of NES games on an emulator. Speaking of NES games, a friend of mine was a NES game developer - been trying to get some his creations on to a digital format so they can work in an emulator...frustrating at times but kinda fun.

I got a NES for my birthday in 1985 (I think). Came with Gyromite, Duck Hunt and the stupid useless robot.
My girlfriend and I play NES all the time. Yeah we're geeks. Now I have a top-loading NES (never blinks if you know what I mean).
We love side-scrolling games like Super Mario and Contra! Oh yes, Contra!
Who still remembers the 30 lives code?

I got an NES in the late 80s. Had a VCS (Sears TeleGames version) before that but the NES became very addicting! I actually have around 350 games for this system.

You like SMB 2 the best? Really? 2 wasn't even really a mario game. It just had mario characters slapped into an existing game. Sorry I can't stand that game, but you can enjoy it ;) It's one and three for me.

I haven't played one in years. I am 30, so I have fond memories of Nintendo.
My original console died... however, there is a used video game store close by. I have been meaning to pick another one up. My son is almost seven years old and he would also have fun with an NES.

Me and kid still play SNES...I'm trying to find older ones, like the classic Atari, Odissey and Intellivision. I love "playable" games...

Now with the internet, it would be easy to find the codes. I remember when I was a kid and someone had the code to Mike Tyson's Punch Out.
Now that I think about it, I really miss NES. One time around 1989/90 I remember going to my friends house... there was four of us, playing Blades of Steel late at night/early in the morning. It was fun being twelve. :)

I had a good collection of vintage systems going, but I sold them all so I could have money to move. The ones I kept were my Atari 2600 and my top-loading (!) NES.

I hate sports games. I am strictly adventure and RPG.
That said, Blades Of Steel is one of my all-time favorite games of any genre.

Yes, the original was called "Doki Doki Panic."
Okay, I think I just outnerded myself...

I had over 50 games for the NES but I never pull it out. If I get a hankering, I play them on my PC emulator.
However, I recently pulled out my N64 and have been playing a lot of "Goldeneye" again. I swear, that game is still like crack.
I loved the GameCube, too.

I preferred "Ice Hockey." So simple, but so darn playable.

We don't have the system anymore, but I have my Tetris game. After all, I was Tetris Queen! (At least in Dormont.) I'd love to pick up another system.

I like Super Mario 2 the best because it's the only one of the three I have beaten, to this day. And without hints at that. I am a sad sad person. :(

As a public service, I want to tell everyone here to never buy Silver Surfer for the NES. Just trust me. It's insanly difficult.

I love SMB2 too. I don't care if it's really a different game, it's insane.
My big favourites are Mega Man 1-3, though. Great games, and terrific music too!

On a related note, has anyone ever tried one of these for use with an emulator?

I have very few games on my actual NES, so it would be nice to attach my old controller to my computer with this and my computer to a TV for a near-authentic experience.
