I've been thinking about getting into tubes on a budget.Any opinions on sound quality between a ST 70 with a PAS 3 and the Fisher or Scott receivers.Thanks.

I'd go with the Dynaco.

PS: Maybe someone will chime in that has both!

Of course you need a pre amp to go with the ST70.

Hey, Nauga-man, our pal mentioned a PAS-3 preamp to mate with the ST-70; the Dyncao stuff is verrrrrrry readily available, and almost all the parts have been made available to keep 'em running - plenty of repair/upgrade info is also available (our man sckott can clue you in)... The Fisher will be harder to keep going unless you buy a junker for parts...

If I can build a Dynaco from scratch from parts found on the Internet in less than a month, collecting - I think just about anyone can do it (find parts). Lots of improvements with some of the stuff like Quad-cap replacements (replaces 3 pieces on the dynaco), better tube sockets, RCA plugs, wiring... But I still like the 7199/PC-3 board. Sturdy as hell... An American classic you can't kill!

Thanks, gents. The Dynaco seems to be the popular opinion, especially taking into account parts availibility.
