View Full Version : My new old pair of coaxes ..Corals..

I must say,..my wife didnt even flinch at their presence,,,,I thought she would stare at them like the simian's and the 2001 Monolith. She just said, really nice cabs...I like their sound quite a bit...I only tried them with a MAC1500 tube amp SS pre reciever. Smooth but energetic sound...a bit of a bass hump somewhere in the lower midbass I think...

I didnt play with the presence/treble knobs as I have to solder a lead that popped off..

Man, those are cool! Corals are awesome drivers and the coax's are getting rare. Those would probably sound cool even in an Open Baffle; those cabs are neat.

your right about OB..i do listen to the EV12trxb with the backs off the cabs...excellent sound.

Are those coaxes or triaxes?

They certainly are swank looking. But, could you get them reconed?

Coral calls them 4 ways...but given that its still a canter horn tweeter with 2 small mids, i say 3 way,,,not sure about reconing.
