Has this ever happened to any of you? I was burning a copy of a CD in high synchro mode, when 2 minutes in to the CD it stopped. I figured OK, this is unusual, but maybe the power failed or something when I wasn't looking. So I put in another disc & tried it again. It seemed to burn fine, no problem. I went back to check it and each track was cut off about 3 seconds at the beginning of each song! This has never happened to me before. Each track was clipped at the beginning...no error message or anything. So I try it a 3rd time and it burns perfectly fine. Is this a fluke? I've never heard of such a thing. Thanks for the help.

What CD burning program are you using, and were you burning wave files or mp3s?

Program...I'm actually not sure. It is a component dual disc Sony burner. I was trying to burn a particular "silver" CD, and this happened. I never have had it happen before. It was really bizarre. Seems fine now but I was wondering how that could happen. I thought that maybe I hit some kind of auto space function but I don't think so. You think maybe the disc was just being tempermental? Is that possible? :p

I'm not familiar with using standalone burners. I was thinking of computer burners.
Never mind.

Wasn't one of those rumored new CDs with copy protection, was it? Just a hunch.
It almost sounds like almost ever Sony CD player I've owned--it lasts six months and dies. Hopefully it's in warranty if you still are having problems with it.

I don't think it was copy protected since the CD was purchased in 96. It's strange, I've used Sony before and never had any problems with their burners. I probably burner about 50 CD's on it but I had a problem with this one & also when was making a mix CD. Around the 74 min mark, on an 80 min disc, it started to error. I tried it again...same thing. The third time it worked fine though. But have you ever heard of the mistake like the one I mentioned above, each tune cut off 3 seconds at the beginning? I was thinking maybe it was the CDR, or using the player too much.
