I have read the "Best of the best" list... hmmh!!! Dylan, Eagles, Jethro Tull, Joni Mitchell, Rush etc are listed as audiophile records...
Well, Steve did an amazing job on Eagles, Mitchell, Tull... and they belong to my all-time favorite records, but they are NOT my audiophile favorites!
I do admire the work of the engineers in the beginning of Stereo. Layton, Wilkinson and the other engineers were responsible for the best sounding records! I don't know if the forum members are familiar with Living Stereo or Living Presence... they used less mikes and worked with the acoustics.
The most Decca, EMI, London, Mercury, RCA stuff sounds better than all titles... mentioned tn the "Best of the best" list!
