A couple of nice references to Steve's good work on CCR and the Zombies, as well. Stuart refers to them as being some of the best available and were taken to a new level with the Meitner combo. (Let's hope so....$10K for middleware only).

Alas, this is a toy for the very rich, out of the reach of most music lovers.

Sure Steve. But with the magic of math and chip set design, once it is agreed that the expensive custom solution "sounds better", its design features can be incorporated into a chip set that costs $3.99 if you order 10,000 units. Give it a few years and both DSD and PCM circuits will start to really shine (if it is agreed that someone hit on a better design solution). We are already seeing better sounding professional mastering tools that handle multi-channel PCM and DSD and Red Book downconversions. In the end it is the mastering and the sound production that matters far more than the quality of the chips.
Richard.

So, I guess I won't find it at Best Buy?
