Light/Color Organs and Various other "Mood Gizmos"

Anyone still use these things? If so what do you have and how does it work?

I used to have a color organ that I built from a Radio Shack kit (1978!). It was the "deluxe" model: it had three sets of lights for bass, mids & highs. All adjustable. And it hooked directly to the speaker output--none of that "inacurate" microphone stuff :). I still remember the advertising tag line on the box:"......it's great fun to watch, from Beethoven to the Beatles".

But it got thrown out while I was at college because my parents "thought" it didn't work anymore. Arrgh!
