Has anyone ever bought from Audio Advisor online? If so were they good to deal with? Thanks.

Bought their house-brand Nitty Gritty record vacuum from them about a decade ago, along with some extras. Never a problem--great transaction, smooth as silk. "A great eBayer!! AAAAAA+++++++++" (OOOps, sorry... ;) )
Also partial to them because they're in Michigan. :)
I never have bought through their website (this was before the internet "explosion"), but did my buying via phone back then.

I bought a CD player from them a year and a half ago with no problems. Their service was excellent.
I've dealt with Audio Advisor on many occasions and can whole-heartedly recommend them. They are great to deal with, and if you're not happy with product, returns are a breeze. They really are service-oriented and have a great selection of product.

I'll join the chorus: I've had good experiences with them, too.

Ditto.
A couple of years ago I bought a Musical Fidelity headphone amp from them (via phone rather than 'net). When it arrived and I hooked it up, I wasn't all that impressed, but returning it for a refund was no problem whatsoever--they could not have been easier to deal with.

Make sure you browse throught their clearence list. I've bought several items that way. No problems at all.

I've ordered from them many times, and have never had a single problem. I got my record-cleaning machine there, and I regularly get supplies from them as well.
I'll second the suggestion to watch their list of demo and clearance items. Some very good bargains pass through there ...
They also have a very good printed catalog, which you may want to send away for. I think they'll throw it in with any order as well.
I agree that they're great to deal with. I've mostly bought clearance/demo stuff from them and it's all been in fabulous condition with the original box and all materials.
I've never had to return anything, but their return policy is very good as well.

Good online dealer -- but it pays to contact them via phone. You can haggle a bit on the price. At least that was my experience a few years ago.

That's what I needed to know. I think I'll order my VPI Scout from them.

For the most part I've had good experiences with them--very professional and fast delivery. But, as was mentioned earlier, do check their clearance sale items as you can save quite a bit. On average, though, I find AA's prices rather high. A few months ago I was able to find a phono cartridge for something like 30% cheaper at another on-line site. Do check around.

Boy, have I been checking around and individually I can find better prices elsewhere but the Scout package for 1,850 which includes a Dynavector 20x I haven't seen cheaper.

That being the case, I'd say you wouldn't have to worry about AA's service and reliability. I several years ago had to return a pair of Grado headphones when the cable came loose--they were replaced with no problem. Good luck.

Bought my first gear from them c. 1992, made additional purchases over the years since then. No problems.

Yes, I have bought the odd thing from them on occasion. Even though I am an audio dealer myself, there are things I don't have access to. They are very professional and have good delivery. I have never had a problem with them in the few times I purchased items from them.

I have bought from Audio Advisor on a number of occasions and have never had a problem. Their selection of cables is excellent, but beware that their prices tend to be high. When I was in the market for some interconnects a little over a year ago, I found that Music Direct had much better prices on the Audioquest Diamondback. I have done well through Audio Advisor on other items, though. Segue...
As others have said, definitely check their clearance items, as you can save a bundle. I recently bought a couple pairs of MIT Terminator2 speaker cables at a significant discount.
A salesman at one of my local high-end dealers tried to tell me that Audio Advisor is not an authorized dealer, but that is just B.S. He was hoping I would believe it so that I would buy at the store. The salesman said this about Audio Advisor after I had bought the MIT speaker cables. The dealer also sells MIT cables, but they did not have the Terminator2 any longer. The salesman had told me that they were being phased out and all he could offer was a current model at $400 for a 12-foot pair. As that was more than I wanted to spend, I turned to Audio Advisor and saved a lot of money by getting the Terminator2 on clearance. I know this isn't a revelation, but don't believe everything a salesman tells you. :)

Thanks for the input everyone. It answered everything. However, I ended up buying the Scout from Red Trumpet.

Pretty much the same price and guarantee. But for $50 more there's a dust cover from VPI which was not an option with advisor, (everyplace else was 200.00 to 400 for a dust cover). Also they had one coming in Thursday rather than an extra 2 or more week wait. I've had great experiences with them on other stuff. And Peter at Red Trumpet has done me favors regarding live Dead CDs. This way I may have it next week. I looked here in Calif. but having to add that 150.00 sales tax was a killer. So for under 2,000 got the table, the cartridge(Dynavector20x-H), the dustcover, and shipping.

Mike, great deal. That dustcover can be a real killer at the price they normally ask. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!
