I have little to go on, I remember none of the stars, all I do recall was a bleak story of the hero seeking out some bad guys, for the rape and murder of his wife.
He finds them one by one, and kills them in a few creative ways. One by tying a bag of rattlesnake on one guys head. A second was hanging another guy over a creek upside down, and damning the creek until the water rises and slowly drowns him.
I was young when I saw this at a drive-in in North Carolina. I have never seen it again, nor have any of my crazy film buff friends. It was just bizarre enough that I haven't forgotten it. I'm thinking someone out there must remember this crazy western. Thanks

No, that's not it. It was much more low budget than that and the actors much more obscure. If I had heard of any of the actors, I may have been able to track it down by now. That's not to say that one or more of them may have gone on to greater fame, but at the time I didn't recognize any of them. If it helps, I believe one of the bad guys is a character actor we would all recognize from dozens of westerns and biker flicks...smallish, dark haired guy with a very pushed in broken nose. Never played the main bad guy, usually just a guy taking orders. But always a bad guy.
Even though this was a western it had more the tone of a low budget biker flick. Well...that should muddy the waters.
Thanks again, don't give up, you guys are my only hope.

I can visualize the actor you have described, but unfortuneately, I can't come up with his name either. Sorry.

yep...that's it.
I knew one of our own would know the answer. I knew the film was awfully bizarre, but after reading various reviews, I guess it's both awful and bizarre. Thanks again, Jackson, quick work!

If you want to watch a great "revenge" western. try "Nevada Smith." Steve McQueen, Brian Keith, Karl Malden lead a stellar cast of western movie bad guys. Nevada Smith (1966)

CRY BLOOD APACHE is without a doubt one of the most dismal and ineptly made American Westerns everIMDB

You just know this is one of those "so bad its good" films
