Rescue Me, Mad Men, The Closer, Big Love, Flight of the Conchords, etc., are ending their seasons, and we're about to get more Gray's Anatomy, Heroes, CSI:Wherevers.

There are good and bad shows in both seasons (and the January middle season...). I'm starting to feel that even though the big dogs are pushing more and more reality c*** on us, Summer is the best season for compelling TV.

(Big Love just ended a great season(aw shucks). Dexter is about to begin again. YAY!!(And Law and Order Criminal Intent will be starting up on USA. YAY!!) Seasons are a rather irrelevant concept regarding television now.

I look forward to the new season with the hope that there will be something worth watching. I've enjoyed The Closer, but lost interest in Mad Men. I also enjoyed watching Jeff Corwyn's series on Alaska.

Only negative thing... FOOTBALL, and then even worse... BASKETBALL. Bread and Circuses for the hoi-polloi, I suppose.

Not watching much broadcast TV, I don't really notice much in the way of TV seasons anymore. For example, series on Comedy Central don't really seem to follow any regular timing as far as when a new bunch of shows will air. Two of my favorite shows on that network -- The Daily Show and The Colbert Report -- basically air new episodes all year long with 1-2 week vacations scattered throughout the year.

There was something to watch almost every night this summer: Mad Men, Rescue Me, Damages, Greek, and it's not like that in the fall. I don't like CSI, hate most comedies, and most new shows I'm interested in get cancelled (Kidnapped was my favorite show last year, but I didn't get to see it until the truncated DVD came out (22 eps squozen into 13). And speaking of Dana Delany, I'm watching the Pasadena marathon that was on yesterday (another cancelled-too-soon program I really liked).

I'm not planning to watch anything new this fall.

Fall TV has FOOTBALL!!!!!!!!!

QFT. I know that's not what was meant by the poll, but I end up watching way more TV in the fall than any other time of the year for exactly this reason. (Although I suppose I watch a lot of TV during March Madness as well.)

I used to get excited growing up when the TV Guide Fall Preview issue came out. There's not much to get pumped about these days...not much "must see tv" for me...but I still like the fall season best.

Fall has the quantity, summer has the quality. Last year, you had Deadwood, Life On Mars, Weeds, Rescue Me, and Entourage. All had peak years. This year you have most of the same shows (except for LOM), but you can add Flight Of The Conchords, Damages, Big Love, The Bronx is Burning and Mad Men.

Does summer season include baseball? :D

Guess I have to vote for fall. I don't watch summer TV other than sports with the TV sound off and music spinning.

I was hooked into too many shows over the last couple of years. I'm trying to slice it down to an hour a day for this season.

I have an HDTV for DVD movies and that is all it's used for! Prime time TV is just awful now and I have less than zero interest in sports. The animated shows and late night talk shows are goos but that is it.

Considering by wtaching habits have pretty much closed down to about (maybe) 3 to 4 fours MAX of TV watching, I am finding the Summer much more fun. The shows are different and take chances where as the fall stuff is the same old same old. I have seen the new Bionic Woamn the the Termenator spin off. The Bionic Woman was nice but not full of surprises. On the promos they cut the one really scary scene when the Boyfrind?Doctor tells her she lost both her legs and she pulls back the sheet to see....ah ya just have to see it. lol
. The other one I could not make it all the way thru.

I think this poll would have more interesting if you waited until October and asked people if you thought the new shows were better in Summer of 07 or Fall 07. Right now, we just have to make a choice on the seasons in general, not specific seasons.
