Anybody remember that movie?

What about the hokey one where a spaceship makes the first trip to Mars and the crew gets stoned (I mean has rocks thrown at them) by cave men. anyone remember that one?

The second one sounds more like a '66/67 TV show titled IT'S ABOUT TIME, unleashed by Sherwood Schwartz, the creator/avatar of GILLIGAN'S ISLAND(if you're still with us, SS, thanx for Mary Ann:love:   )A pair of astronauts wind up back in the Stone Age and meet up with Imogene Coca, among other comedy luminaries.

There has to be a flick along similar lines, but can't think of it right now...

No, I remember this as a film and have tried to find it on several occasions. I think almost all of the crew dies before getting back to earth.

I would love to see both 'I Robot and 'The Foundation Series' either as movies or TV. With CompGen technology It should now be quite possible.

This one was actually better than most B-movie science fiction. I remember a scene after the ants get to L.A. when our protagonists go to the drunk tank to interview a vagrant who saw them in the L.A. river. The guy is lying in bed with his feet up yelling 'Make me a sergeant in charge of the booze'. Starring James Arness and James Whitmore. Haven't seen it in years. I'll have to put it on my queue at Netflix.

Hey Ed,

I remember that one. The first season, they went back in time. The second season, they brought the cave people back to the present, right?

"It's about time, It's about space, about two men in the strangest place
This is the tale of the brave crew, as through the barrier of time they flew
Past the fighting minute men, past an armoured knight,
Past the Roman warrior, to this dreadful sight"

Whoa, I am really losing my mind.................

I'm thinking The Angry Red Planet from 1959. Do you remember giant spider monsters in the movie you're thinking of?

Starring the incomparable Imogene Coca as the cave-woman.

If you are, jon, join the club:D

Yes, that's the series, but it only lasted a single season. What was interesting was that, in midstream, the astronauts managed to repair the craft and brought the cave people back to the modern world. It was as if Schwartz knew it wasn't going to last long--or didn't think the original concept flew after filming about a dozen eps--and shifted gears in an attempt to maybe save it. Didn't work, but you got the theme right! Won't make you forget the "Gilligan's Island Theme" any time soon, though...

Agreed on both of those; well worth seeing again! You can't go wrong with Asimov...

I think Jimbo may have gotten it right: THE ANGRY RED PLANET. 1959, directed by the immortal Ib Melchior:D(a classic 'bad movie director' name).
Filmed in "Cinemagic"!! Oddball thing, but it's the closest I can think of to what you describe. And it's been out on VHS and laser, so it's likely you've seen it. Filled with B-movie actors you've seen in dozens of other sci-fi flicks.

Wow, I'm glad to hear it was only a movie.

I lived in L.A. for about 11 years. Lived through earthquakes, floods, mudslides, Hal Fishman, fires, Rodney King verdicts, an O.J. trial, freeway shootings, car chases and bank robberies on live T.V.

When I see a movie about giant ants in Los Angeles, it just seems like something could that happen.

Yup,I think Giant Ants in LA's Storm drains would get media attention...If it could happen anywhere it would be LA for sure...
