PAPER RECORD PLAYER
December 2005 - Paper & Vinyl - 400x330x280mm

Fully working, manual record player made entirely of paper. To play the record the
handle needs to be turned in a clockwise direction at a steady 33-1/3rpm. The paper cone
then acts as a pickup, amplifying the sound enough to make it audible. (Record shown,
'The Sound of Music' 1965).

The Sound of Music, on Polydor?

There's also a turntable made of Legos (http://www.techeblog.com/index.php/tech-gadget/teens-build-fully-functional-lego-record-player#more-6404)

I'd bet that the paper scuffs are a biotch.

I remember my science teacher doing that same trick in 6th grade with a paper cone and a straight pin.
I've found that drawing little smiley faces on the paper with a green magic marker will greatly improve the overall dynamics.
